Ian Ginsburg’s artistic practice, being a noncanonical example of working with memory in Russian contemporary art, belongs to the discourse of the archival impulse which is crucial for recent international aesthetic context. Creating a dialogue with a certain artist and analyzing certain artistic phenomenon (art history and aesthetic theories primarily are in Ginsburg’s spotlight), artist marks out the premises and traces of artistic production processes.
